She is passionate about building trusted relationships and providing thoughtful, high-quality advice that helps clients make confident decisions about their future.

Day to day, Lucy enjoys translating complex financial matters into straightforward conversations, ensuring clients feel informed rather than overwhelmed. In recognition of her client-focused approach, she was awarded VouchedFor Top Rated Adviser status in 2026.

Before joining Lomond Wealth, Lucy quickly progressed from Paraplanner to Chartered Financial Planner while achieving Competent Adviser Status. She also developed specialist expertise in complex tax and trust planning, alongside broader investment, retirement and protection advice.

Qualifications

  • AdvDipIP - Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning

    This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities, covering topics such as personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

    This level 4 Diploma meets the FCA's qualification requirements for retail investment advisers and helps candidates to develop core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities.

  • AF1 - Personal Tax and Trust Planning

    This examination assesses the candidate to develop in depth financial planning skills related to personal tax and trusts.

  • AF4 - Investment Planning

    This examination assesses the candidate to develop in depth financial planning skills related to investments and the management of investment portfolios.

  • AF5 - Financial Planning Process

    This examination assesses the candidate to develop an understanding of the financial planning process when giving advice to clients.

  • AF8 - Retirement Income Planning

    This unit develops and demonstrates the advanced skills needed for advising on income planning to those in and approaching retirement.

  • J02 - Trusts

    At the end of this unit, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the: legal principles associated with the creation and management of a trust; main types of trusts that are common in the UK; taxation considerations relevant to trusts.

  • J09 - Paraplanning

    At the end of this unit, candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to understand the role of the paraplanner in providing financial services, and evaluate and analyse the customer's financial circumstances to provide potential solutions

  • J10 - Discretionary Investment Management

    At the end of this unit, candidates should be able to analyse and apply financial information and portfolio management skills

  • CF8 - Certificate in Financial Planning and Long-Term Care Insurance

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK regulation environment in the financial services industry, long-term care insurance products and the giving of long-term care insurance advice.

  • Certificate in Paraplanning

    The Level 4 Certificate in Paraplanning offers a dedicated qualification route, developing paraplanning skills, expertise and advanced technical knowledge in several key advisory areas.

  • CeLTCI - Certificate in Long Term Care Insurance

    This qualification meets regulatory requirements for advising on long-term care and covers the background and different types of long-term care available, impact of legislation and the relationship between adviser and client.

  • CertPFS (DM) - Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management

    The RQF Level 4 Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management develops the wealth strategy and portfolio management skills required for effective discretionary investment management. The qualification satisfies the FCA appropriate qualification requirements for this class of business.

  • R01 - Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics.

  • R02 - Investment Principles and Risk

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.

  • R03 - Personal Taxation

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.

  • R04 - Pensions and Retirement Planning

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.

  • R05 - Financial Protection

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.

  • R06 - Financial Planning Practice

    This qualification helps advisers develop and demonstrate their financial planning capabilities.

A little more about Lucy

Originally from Scotland, Lucy returned home after spending almost three years living and working in Wales. Away from the office, she enjoys hiking in the Scottish Highlands, reading crime novels, teaching and competing in Scottish Country Dancing, and discovering new whiskies.

Lucy also has a background in competitive gymnastics, having represented Scotland and later coached Team Wales at the British Finals. When she’s not outdoors or with family, you’ll often find her relaxing with a good detective series, a coffee and, ideally, a cat nearby.
